Grammar, punctuation, spelling

  • You will be emailed a login for your child for this website, weekly uploads will be added with new work.

      Reading

      • A variety of comprehension activities have been uploaded on our school website. Please ask your children to work through each text and answer the question attached. Answers are also added to the end of each text for parents.

      • Your child also has a ‘10 minute Reading book’ that can be completed, answers are at the back for parents to mark answers.

        Maths

        • Daily arithmetic is available for different areas of maths on the website https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10

          Your child should aim to work on level 4, 5 and 6 activities. 
           

        • Get your child to work on their reasoning and problem solving by practising past SATs questions that are broken down into topic areas and have videos linked to them that can be watched if needed. As these are older papers these are suitable for both years 5 and 6. Click on one of the topic areas listed to gain access to the questions.

            DAILY ACTIVITIES

            • Read aloud for 10 minutes to parents/carers.
            • Read aloud for an additional 5 to a pet, toy or the air, trying to change your voice for different characters (where appropriate).
            • Practice tables using TT Rock Stars.
            • Revise: Reading Comprehension, Grammar-Spelling-Punctuation, Arithmetic and Maths Reasoning for 15 mins each subject in one sitting.
            • Try to create word families (e.g., family, familiar, familial, familiarity, familiarities, familiarise, familiarises, etc.).
            • Practice joined handwriting AS OFTEN as possible.
