At St francis Xavier, we strive to ensure all of our pupils develop the automaticity and fluency skills they need to be successful, confident readers. We do this through high quality teaching of phonics, right from when they join us in EYFS, and then as they progress into Year 1. For our pupils with specific learning needs, we commit to ensuring that they develop these skills in line with their individual capacity through tailored learning plans, high quality teaching and interventions.
