CONSULTATION ON ADMISSIONS POLICY 2024-25
As part of the Department for Education’s School Admissions Code, schools are required to consult on their admission arrangements at least every 7 years.
In line with this guidance, we are consulting again with no changes to our proposed admission arrangements for the academic year 2024/25.
A copy of our proposed Admission Arrangements for the Academic Year 2024/25 can be found by clicking the link below.
The consultation period is open for 6 weeks from 16th December 2022 and any comments about the admission arrangements should be made in writing to the Clerk to the Board of Governors at firstname.lastname@example.org by 27th January 2023.
Thank you in advance for your engagement in this consultation.
Applying for a Place in Reception
Children in Sandwell can start school (Reception) in the September after their fourth birthday. Sandwell Council's School Admissions Service publishes information on their website, informing parent/carers on how to start their child at school. However, the responsibility for applying online for a child to start reception class, remains solely with parent/carers.
When to apply
Parents can apply for a place in the Autumn of the year before their child turns 4 years of age. It is important that you apply for a place as soon as possible. Attendance at our nursery class does not give a child automatic priority for a place
Changing schools in the middle of the year
Mid-year applications are when you apply to transfer your child from one primary school to another primary school or from one secondary school to another secondary school during the school year.
Please visit School admissions | Sandwell Council for further information on making an application.
